A short while ago, I wrote an UP Close & Personal Blog that shared some very personal stories about me, my life and WHY I do what I do. There were two questions that bothered me and I’m sharing them with you because just maybe they are two questions you have asked yourself, but you haven’t ever really answered them:
- Do I LOVE what I do?
- Do I LOVE why I do it?
Last year, those questions presented themselves in creative and hard ways, so I had to face them and honestly answer them. The first answer was ‘SORT OF.’ I liked what I was doing, but the answer to the second question was a ligthening bolt moment because I did not LOVE WHY I was doing it. Something had to change in my life in order for me to be living and fulfilling my life’s calling. Oh it was a DRASTIC life-change, but when I discovered my WHY was not lining up with my purpose, I was jolted into changing because if there is something I have realized as a cancer survivor with a second chance and a mother with three children growing up and going to college, it is that life goes FAST! Acknowledging that fact makes me want to LOVE WHAT I do, but more importantly I want to LOVE WHY I do it.
So WHY do I love what I do? Because I get to work for myself, which allows more time with family AND I get to surround myself with people like you–bubble bursters, movers and shakers, and people who want to use all of their gifts, talents and experiences to BLESS OTHERS out of their bubbles. Today can be the day that you say I not only want to LOVE what I do, but I want to LOVE WHY I do it!
