As we kick off Memorial Day Weekend, I was remembering our recent trip to Washington DC and the day we spent quietly and serenely walking through the hallowed paths of Arlington National Cemetery. The freedoms we celebrate came at a very great cost.
This year several women have been participating in the Bursting with Fruit adventure, and this month we have been focusing on the fruit of kindness. Combining the desire to learn more about what kindness is and how it looks, we were encouraged to meditate on a favorite verse found in Micah.
This special passage is appropriate for our own nation as we not only celebrate the long weekend with picnics, parades and other festivities, but hopefully take time out to honor and remember those who paid the ultimate price to secure our liberty. May we all seek to do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with our God.
